Club 345’s 2016 Summer Mission Days
Children in Club 345 at Plymouth Park UMC made the most their summer mission days this year. In June, they helped make decorations for VBS. In July, they helped set up the toy room for the Missions Garage Sale. And this month, one week before going back to school, they volunteered at a warehouse for Stop Hunger Now, the same ministry our church partnered with at last spring’s “Feed Our Neighbors, Feed the World” event. The kids helped label meal pouches and packed empty rice containers that can be used in Haiti for lining wells and making backpacks and shopping bags — so something that otherwise would be thrown away becomes new and useful. Sunday, August 21, 2016, was another big day, our annual Blessing of the Backpacks before the start of the new school year, with youth of all ages moving on to their new Sunday School classes.
